FOGG ART MUSEUM • HARVARD UNIVERSITY
CAMBRIDGE 38, MASSACHUSETTS

July 30, 1954

Mr. Germain Seligman
Suvretta House
St. Moritz
Switzerland

Dear Germain:

It was wonderful to get your letter and know that both of you are having such a fine time.

For my sins, I am lecturing on 17th and 18th century art which keeps me in even more of a flap than usual. I will write a real answer to your note, but dash this off just to say that Harvard would love to participate in an exhibition of Mr. Porcher's manuscripts. Perhaps we might undertake this jointly with Phil Hofer and the Houghton Library.

And now to misinform and mislead the young and old alike on Watteau!

In haste but with warm regards from all three of us,

Sincerely yours,

John
