Dear Professor Sloane:

To my regret I have to importune you anew with accounting matters.

This morning, I received a check from the University of North Carolina, No. 17341, Trust Funds Account, drawn on the Bank of Chapel Hill, in the amount of:

$6,695.00

(Six Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-Five)

Strangely enough, it accompanied my Firm's invoice for:

$6,500.00

(Six Thousand Five Hundred)

which I am returning herein, duly receipted.

I am also enclosing a check of

$195.00

(One Hundred Ninety-Five)

made out to the University of North Carolina, which represents the excess payment.

The reason for this confusion escapes me, of course, but I assume that the University's Accounting Department will be able to straighten it out.

With all good wishes,

Sincerely yours,

GERMAIN SELIGMAN TP
