Dear Mr. Rich:

As Mr. de Hauke is sailing tomorrow for Europe, he has asked me to send you whatever information I could regarding works by Bonnard and Vuillard that are in this country and which might be available for your proposed exhibition next season at the Art Institute.

As you will see, the list of works by these two great masters in this country is pitifully restricted. Nevertheless, there are a few very interesting examples to choose from. Herewith the list:-

BONNARD
Phillips Memorial Gallery -- about 7 or 10 paintings, the majority of them very fine amongst which the two most important are "La Palme" and "Grand Paysage du Midi".

Toledo Museum -- Landscape.

Worcester Museum -- (?)

Smith College Museum of Art - Interior of a Kitchen, water color.

Stephen C. Clark -- "Open Window"; very large, fine canvas.

Chester Dale

Robert Woods Bliss -- (?) "Au Moulin Rouge" (early work)

Morton Goldsmith
894 Post Road
Scarsdale, New York -- small water color
