Dear Mr. Ludgin:

Upon the close of the RICO LEBRUN exhibition I am sending you these few lines to say the "Centurion's Horse" has been marked "reserved" ever since your visit on behalf of the Society forContemporary American Art. Whenever you wish it sent to Chicago for the other members of your Society to see, it will be available.

Did we mention when you were here that Lebrun has been selected as one of the six or seven artists to represent the United States at the Venice "Biennale" this summer? A group of five or six of his paintings will be shown. This necessitated our having additional paintings sent on by the artist, as substitutes for those from our exhibition which are under consideration.

Several people were in last week who had seen the Art Institute's display of Lebrun drawings and lithographs. From their reports Mr. Schniewind is to be congratulated on the arrangement.

Mr. Seligman and I enjoyed the few minutes you spent here, and trust you will drop on future trips to New York.

Yours very sincerely,
Mr. Earle Ludgin,
Society for Contemp. Amer. Ptg.,
