March 25th, 1941

Dear Mr. Milliken:

I thank you for your very kind lines of March 24th.

Please be assured that I would not take the liberty of wasting your time by showing you enamels which would not be worthy of your interest.

The little collection I am anxious for you to see consists of twelve plaques which probably came from a portable altar or a chasse. They are of the finest quality Mosan enamel as far as design and colors are concerned, and the particular point of interest is that the designs are very varied. They are all in a brilliant state and the collection comes from the Schloss Museum in Berlin, having been given in part payment for some pieces of the "dear old Guelph Treasures".

Looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you soon in New York,

I remain -

Yours most sincerely,

(C. M. de Hauke)
