After my return here, from being in New York, not having seen him on that visit, I sent him a list of pictures which interested me, in which I included the [[?]], specifically.

The Redon show is delighting all, and between you & me, though a quarter the size, certainly eclipsed the Ensor exhibit which happened along at the same time. The latter I can only get up the coolest intellectual tolerance of .. & it was a real thrill to have the Redon's. Just in those first weeks, countless people spoke to me about them.

This brings a Christmas greeting from Gates Mills to you and Ethlyne. As we rarely send cards, a letter must convey our affectionate messages. I trust you have a snowy holiday, - for that wonderful expanse across the park. I hope however it will not be as horribly cold & blizzardy as it is here. Poor Frances is pretty sick of running the show at home all by herself, with sub zero temperatures.
