Henry Francis

Thurs. 3/22
Paris

Dear Ethlyne & Germain:

This is a greeting which I wish we had made the brief hours we were in N.Y. before sailing last week. You didn't hear from us only because we came so late & were so tired that except for dinner in the evening we did nothing. We long to have you here now. Tho snappy, spring is in the air..despite strikes we manage well tho Paris is desperately crowded, no metro or buses running. We lunched with the Arthur Sachs'; & this afternoon saw the Berlin pictures at the Petil Palais among them this ravishing piece. I hardly think anyone knows Watteau who hasn't seen this; & it is my first time. Frances & I send affectionate greetings, Henry. We fly to Italy Easter Sunday....Hotel Minerva Florence -
