Dear Mr. and Mrs. Seligman:

The Preview and Dedication of our magnificent Samuel H. Kress Collection and new $100,000 Kress Wing are scheduled for November 14 and 15 at the Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

We wish to extend to you a preliminary but warm invitation to attend the several scheduled functions in connection with these important events.

We would welcome you at our black-tie Dinner on the evening of Tuesday, November 14, followed by a Reception and Preview of the Kress Regional Collection. You are also invited to attend a 12:30 noon Luncheon and Dedication on Wednesday, November 15, for leading business men and other distinguished guests.

In advance of issuance of formal invitations, we need to ascertain the approximate number of guests to be expected at these affairs.

The largest single gift of art we have ever received, the Kress Collection consists of 42 paintings and three sculptures of the Fourteenth through Eighteenth centuries by master artists of Germany, France and Italy. They will be housed on permanent display in the new Kress Wing.

President Dr. Jay F. W. Pearson, the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami and the Board of Regents of the Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery extend this advance invitation to you and request that you advise us as soon as possible if you can arrange to be our guests.

Sincerely Yours,
C. Clay Aldridge
