Sir:
I have the honor to inform you that this Bureau will assist in the construction of a school house for the  Colored people at Gallatin, Sumner Co, Tenn. to the amount of five hundred ($500.00/100) dollars upon you request dated on the 26th of August 1869.

You will please cause duplicate contracts to be made for the materials &c. required with the same specifying the quantities and the prices of the several articles.

The contract may be made between myself as Supt. of Education, Bu. R. F. and A. L. for the State of Tennessee and the party furnishing the materials, and will be signed by the party referred to and sent to this office for approval, upon which the necessary authority to commence the work will be sent you.
