I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of you communication of the 11th inst and in reply thereto would inform you that I have just conferred with Genl Eaton the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Tennessee and he states that no difficulty need for apprehended regarding the salaries of the teachers of the free school.  The money for 1868 is all collected and that for 1869 partly so and that your certificate from the County Superintendent that the school has been taught during the regular time of five months will entitle you to your pay.

[[?]] school is now progressing as well I should be [[?]], [[long?]] should you abandon it.

Any assistance I may be able to render you and account, will be cheerfully given.
