we did not dare to keep you in the dark about his new condition. I have just been talking to the Dr and he says there is no more reason for apprehension now than at any time, & so no more reason for your coming.

Uncle Will talked to me this morning & I feel more like going on with plans & every thing. It is lovely & cool & sweet here today - yesterday was a radiant summer day & I certainly do enjoy the trees & birds & the sweet woody smell of the mountain - as to my poppies of every sort & color they are a wonder to me.

Uncle Will has the bandage off his arm & holds the paper in his hand, there is hardly any soreness, the clots of blood are being absorbed without making trouble.

We are deeply interested in the portrait & follow it every inch you may depend.
