We are going to Smith today. It is Field day up there I believe - that means a kind of meet as nearly as I can make out.

When I asked for a dressing - gown Rachel pulled out of a long drawer the most adorable Peignoir (?) you ever saw. I am sitting in it now and feel early eighties. It is very long and full with broad ruffles of lace everywhere and a big collar and a watteau back and broad blue ribbon to tie round the waist and lots of little ribbons to tie up the front and on the sleeves. The silk is white with groups of ribs in it and at intervals narrow blue stripes and then a broad stripe. I would like to wear it all day, As Mr.
