12 Pearl Street

My dearest - Yesterday morning I painted on the beach till the light changed. Mr. Webster came and gave me a very interesting criticism; then I went back to the studio and as it was only eleven o'clock I took a little thumb-box that I had just purchased and fared forth to make a sketch. I found a delightful spot to paint. This weather is perfect. There is no doubt about it that Sept. is the month to paint here. At twelve Kathleen came for me and we went out to the Paxtons where we had a glorious swim before lunch. A very pleasant time was had by all. Very soon after lunch we returned, went down town and got four pears and two eggs for our little picnic. We started
