Clock witness was in his own home & Mitchells house was about 10 or 15 steps off, Witness saw Mitchell that night, he was at work at Station No 2. He is now working at Alfred Cliett's about two miles from station No. 2, the station is about 3 or 4 miles from Mr. Stephen Bassetts & about 3 miles from Mr. Clietts to Mr. Bassetts.

Witness recognizes Harrison Cliett. Knows about Mr. Bassetts smoke house being broke open.- It was on Sunday night about 4 or 5 weeks before Christmas was dark & rainy. Harrison was in his own house that night until about 2 O. Clock in the morning. Witness was with him all the time up to that time was sick & witness went to sit up with the child. the child had something like cold. Witness was living at Mr. Cliett's Did not see Harrison again that night after 2 O Clock saw him next morning just at light came out of his house, -

All of us lived at Mr. Clietts at the time & witness moved off next day. The child that was sick got well, it was about 4 months old, a fellow by the name of Gus & his Wife, Harrison's 2 little sisters & my little girl, Gus staid & sat up till 11 O Clock & went out Witness's daughter was about 12 years old Witness is not related to any of these parties. Witness knows
