Dear Frank,

Your accelerated parcel arrived with two of your Norton lectures. I was amazed and touched by this gift. Shall we say that it was intended for Alfred?

I am slowing reading ten pages at a time, not more, because at the moment I am not at my best.

You remember from your Princeton days how anxiously scholars study the sayings and writings of past artists. You are working not only for the present but for the future.

Thank you for this beautiful bouquet of arousing thoughts.

Yours,
Marga
