DEAR MRS. WARD,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LETTER OF NOVEBER 16TH AND THE ENCLOSED FOTOGRAPH OF "DOUBLE DATE". IT IS TRUE THAT I AM INTERESTED IN THIS PIECE BY MARISOL, BUT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTOOD FROM THE ARTIST HERSELF THE PRICE OF $ 3000.00 WAS TO BE THE GROSS PRICE. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, THE SHIPPING COSTS TO GERMANY FOR SUCH A LARGE PIECE WILL BE EXTREMELY HIGH AND MOREOVER I SHALL HAVE TO PAY TH 4 % GERMAN IMPORT TAX. ALTHOUGH I REALLY LIKE MARISOL'S SCULPTURE I AM NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT THE PRICE OF $ 3000.00 NET, BUT I AM PREPARED TO PAY $ 2100.00 FOR IT. IF YOU AGREE TO THIS I SHOULD TO ACQUIRE THE SCULPTURE AND ASK YOU TO SHIP IT TO MY ADDRESS AT THE END OF THE SHOW.

SINCERELY YOURS

A. Schmela
