Dear Mr Macbeth             Rome
    I am sorry to have delayed answering
your letter of April 25 inclosing check for sales
Time goes in Italy as elsewhere and my days
are very happy and much alike and pass very
quickly At present two of the marbles are
finished but I hope they will again look
unfinished by the end of another year- Three
more in marble are underway and I have a
life size figure in clay and a small plaster
figure still to go in marble All this has kept
the small bronze side  back but there will
be some when we return, if not before There
are several small things that I might cast
but I would rather wait until there are enough
to select the best from.
The exposition is on in full blast America's
building looks rather shabby at first in comparison
to the ground buildings of England Germany and France
but on second examination of the contents there is much to think of. In small bronzes those of America
are better
