Dear Friends Hood and Shu:

Heartfelt Thanks for the beautiful, yellow roses you sent me for Christmas.  When they got open, they were large like saucers.  I never saw roses that large before.  Many thanks!

In November you wrote me a very nice card, in which you told me, that you might be in Detroit to see Yamasaki and that you would call me in advance to arrange to see me.

I never got this call, because I was again at the Ford Hospital for three weeks.

I don't know if I ever told you that 1957 I got the shingles, followed by a chronic nerv illness-with steady pains, which get worse from year to year.  [[strikethrough]]I got[[/strikethrough]]
