Dear Shu,

I received your kind letter a short time ago with the wonderful documents of your CBS work. Many thanks for sending me the same. In my opinion they represent the acme of your unique professional career which I have witnessed for about twenty five years. In looking back to my trips to USA in 1939 and 1949, one of my most impressive experiences was the weekend visit in Cranebrook and the hospitality at the house of Eliel Saarinen and his most charming wife. In fact, it was just a revelation for me to meet them in the home of such an abundance of real culture. I had never before seem anything equal.

At that occasion I met Eero when you discussed with him the Womb chair in his home. This chair has found its place in my living room since 12 years, next to a big open chimney.

Since that time I have grown very very old! Time has left me alone, though in good health, at nearly ninety! You may have
