Dear Mrs. Bassett,

If you see the story about yourself in tomorrow's paper, you will probably wonder why I had to take up so much of your time. It has been cut most grievously -- something that happens all too frequently in this business but which wounds the reporter deeply each time.

So that you may know what I really wrote, I am sending you a carbon of my story.

It was a great pleasure to interview you an I want to thank you again for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
Virginia Lee Warren
(Mrs. Milton Bracker)
