Dear Shu:

Barbara and I were very happy to get your note and the copy of your letter to Cornell. We both regret your decision very much, but understand your reasons. We know from our own experience how difficult and unsettling it is, to be so very much tied up in ones work and, on top of it, to be frequently separated from your husband (or wife). We do hope that, after CBS, your new leisure time will not only be devoted to the many personal projects you mention in your letter, but that eventually your [[you]] will also find time to occasionally design a new piece of furniture! (Please excuse this bit of selfishness).

Barbara will be going to South America, via New York, towards the end of March and I expect to come to New York in the middle of May, meeting her when she returns from Mexico. We then expect to sail for Europe on July 1. We do hope very much that we'll have a chance to see you and Hood during our stay.

With all our good wishes to you and Hood.

As ever yours,
Barbara and Toby
