Mr. George J. Barnard
454 Fort Washington Ave.
New York City

Dear Sir:

Thank you for yours of February 4th. There must be some mistake about the person who called at the cloisters, for it was not I. However, I am interested in Italian primitive paintings and in the works of Lorenzo Monaco.

I may be in New York soon after the 20th of February, and if you still have the picture then, perhaps I can manage to see it. I will send word to the Assistant Director of the Museum, Mr. Sachs, who is now in New York, that you have this picture and hope that it will reach him in time for him to call on you before his return to Cambridge.

Yours truly,

E.W. Forks
Director
