Office Commissary General of Subsistence,
Washington City, Jany 5th, 1870

Sir:

I have the honor to enclose herewith bill of Subsistence Stores furnished to Destitute Refugees and Freedmen by various Officers of the Subsistence Department, at different points, during the month of October 1869, amounting to four thousand six hundred and eighty one dollars and eighty two cents ($4681.82), and to request that a transfer warrant may be drawn for that amount on the appropriation for Subsistence of Freedmen and Refugees to the credit of the appropriation for the Subsistence of the Army.
