Respectfully returned to Maj. Genl. O. O. Howard Com. with the information, that I have authority dated Oct. 1" 1869. to appropriate $2000. The Deed was submitted to me and I returned it for the purpose of having it corrected - inserting the clause "to Trustees of Freedmen's School and their successors forever for permanent school purposes"
Soon as the Deed is forwarded, and the Building is sufficiently advanced to warrant payment, I will make out vouchers for the amount granted. I have written for the Deed and Contract.
