finished the Cadet Lists up to the 31st March. On the 4th inst. I handed these to Capt. Wilkinson & Mr. Barber as requested by Capt. Piatt.

After these statements I venture to say that my case is deserving of special treatment, inasmuch as I did not avail myself of the usual leave of absence. Others who did so have obtained employment. I now find myself with claims to meet, a very light purse & my wife prostrate with fever & ague. I would not be troublesome, but I do hope & pray that my excellent friend the Commissioner will be enabled to suggest something under these trying circumstances. I am ready & willing to do anything I can do, & feel profoundly grateful for past kindnesses. I will endeavour to call at the University to-morrow forenoon.
