Bay City May 1st 1871

Dear sir

I am a widow and my health is very poor and I am alone in the world and my Brothers and sisters in the Church advised me to go south to teach the Blacks; in the south and I rote to Mr Sutherland in the House of Representatives  he is from this District  he refeard me to you  he said you was at head of such matters; and if you will be so kind to let me know if I can git a chooll and at what terms  there was one Lady went from Bay City last year and she is teachin and is gitting 50 Dollars a month  I would like an infant chool [[strikethrough]] plesese [[/strikethrough]] please let me know if I can
