June 14th
Mrs. Ann M. Scott
Your letter to the Resident has been referred to Gen. Howard, and I am instructed to reply that there is no way of getting your nephew unless he wishes to leave Atlanta Ga. and go to you. If he desires to do this and Mrs Clark restrains him, you can apply to the courts in Ga. to have him released. This will cost you money, and if you can pay the expense of the suite in court and of the boys journey to your home I advise you to wrote to Col. J.R. Lewis, Atlanta Ga who I think will attend to the business for you.
