What I have to say about the system of work inaugurated by Genl Saxton I will reserve until you return.

On the 29- I left Edisto and arrived in Charleston about 11 A.M. I remained there all day investigating affairs of the Bureau & giving instructions to agents of the same & having conversations with the military authorities & citizens. Genl Hatch is disposed to do what is right now, & I think the agents of the Bureau in Charleston will have no trouble with him.
