He told me that he had seized the Court House in Washington (to use after the military Authorities abandn it) as it was abandoned property - that the state of Georgia having been in rebellion, of course all of the Counties therein had abandoned their property. On the same [[strikethrough]] though he [[/strikethrough]] theory he proposed to seize all state property - and, in fact, told Genl Gillmore that he thought he would seize the railroads in Georgia.

I remained with Gen W. parts of two days and two nights (I left him at Atlanta, where we went on the 2d inst.), and I think I have corrected his false impressions and notions. But ther is no telling what he may do. I really
