I have not reported these to you as I knew Genl Terry was doing all in his power to correct the evil and my dependence upon them was so great I could not afford to offend them.

Please understand me General; I do not wish a Regiment of fanatics but of sound practical common sense men, such men as I know the Christian influence of the North would aid me in procuring.
