You will please report to this office the following items in relation to Freedmen's Schools, by the 15th of September, 1865, or as soon thereafter as practicable:

1st. About the number of colored people in your town or district 500.

2d. The number of Freedmen Schools in your town or district now in operation. 1.

3d. Whole number that have been discontinued-the cause, &c. 0

4th. Whole number of white teachers now employed. 2. By whom. O.S. Pres. Ch.

5th. Whole number of colored teachers now employed. 1. By whom. O.S. Pres. Ch.

6th. Whole number of each that have been discontinued - cause. 0

7th. Whole number of months taught in each school since organization 3.

8th. Whole number of pupils now enrolled under 12 years, male and female. 50 Whole number of pupils now enrolled between 12 and 21 years, male 120 and female. Whole number of pupils now enrolled above 21 years, male and female. 55.

9th. Whole number of teachers who have taught less than 3 months. 2 Whole number of teachers who have taught 3 months and less than 6 months. 1. Whole number of teachers who have taught 6 months and less than 9 months. 0 Whole number of teachers who have taught 9 months and less than 12 months. 0 Whole number of teachers who have taught 12 months. or more.0 How many more teachers required to supply the present demand.

10th. Amount of salary paid each teacher per month. 75, 50, & 20 dols.

11th. Whole amount paid for teaching $145.00.

12th. Amount received from tuition fees. 0

13th. Amount received from other sources.

14th. Amount paid for school rooms - rents and purchases. Undecided.

15th. Whole number of school houses tenable. 1.

16th. Whole number of school houses required. 2.

17th. What facilities for building school houses. Pretty good for log ones.

18th. Any other items that may be serviceable to the Educational Department of this Bureau.
