Her easel paintings have been exhibited in a great many arts shows and museums. At the present time, Miss Rush's work is represented in the Phillip Memorial Gallery, Washington, D. C., the John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Art Museum in Worcester, Massachusetts and Brooklyn Museum, New York City. She has also executed murals for La Fonda Hotel and the Public Library in Santa Fe.

Miss Rush was invited to undertake the Florence Post Office mural project on the basis of the work which she submitted in a national competition conducted by the Section of Fine Arts of the Public Buildings Administration. Hundreds of similar commissions have been awarded to American artists by the Section of Fine Arts since it was established in 1934. Many of the murals which have been produced under this program and installed in Federal buildings depict scenes of local history and folk-lore. Others show what Americans do at work and at play especially when it is characteristic of the region in which the painting will hang. A great deal of public interest has been aroused by this art work and many artists who otherwise would have had little opportunity to exhibit their talents have been "discovered" by the critics and the public at large.
