also served as a Meeting House for the Religious Society of Friends, of which she was a life-long member.
In 1947 Miss Rush received the honorary degree of Doctor of Fine Arts at Earlham College, and as recently as 1960 was awarded a grant from the Ingram Merrill Foundation, New York, for a major canvas to be included in the collections of the Museum of New Mexico.
According to her wishes, her body is to be cremated and her ashes returned to the family burial plot in Fairmont, Indiana. A memorial service under the care of the local Friends Meeting will be held at 630 Canyon Road next Sunday, August 28th, at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to a memorial collection of her paintings which it is hoped may be kept on permanent display at her studio.
Miss Rush is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Miss Elizabeth Beasley of Santa Fe.
