A.M. Olive, will you tell us something about your background, where you studies, a bit about your early work as an illustrator?

A.M. How did you happen upon that wonderful technique of painting animals that's made you known where ever art is known?

A.M. What medium do you feel expresses best what you have to say?

A.M. Now about murals, what medium do you use?

A.M. Do you work from sketches or do you just start and let the mural evolve as you go along? 

O.L.[[handwritten answer by above question]]: Carefully plan a mural not only for its, ours sake but for the Building + coordination. continual balancing of focus. attention between architecture + mural. To line + color, considering large spaces

A.M. When did you first start painting abstraction? 

O.R. [handwritten answer by above question]: The Chinese are very abstract. The more I learn of what it is that makes a good picture, that makes it sing, the more I go after those [[best guess?]] qualities. non objective 4 years

A.M. Do you like to paint portraits? - the one of Mary Austin has become a part of art history.

A.M. Will you tell us a few of he museums, collections that contain your work?

A.M. Olive, what do you think of the over-all pattern of art here in Santa Fe?

O.R. [handwritten answer by above question]: If we have arrived at a pattern, I would say it is a navigated [[best guess??]] one. We go our several ways. individuals. Each working out his own - no undue influence. Santa Fe school?

A.M. As you know, I like to see a painter work in both objective and abstract approaches. You do this, so will you tell us why you can paint both realism and abstraction?

A.M. Now I want to give a bit of advice to the art students who are listening to his radio show - 

O.R. [handwritten answer by above question]: manual skill + knowledge important. take time for general culture - avoid commercialism. good craft serves [[best guess??]] Experiment + find your own best expression. Say what you want to say - you will never say anything else very well.

A.M. Where do you think world art is going, towards realism or towards abstraction and surrealism?

O.R. [handwritten answer by above question]: We are weary of formulas I hope take a middle course -  use abstraction with good design to express the fine things of [word missing] love of your fellow men everywhere. High service to others
