Dear Hedda,

I have little time and there's an opportunity to send you a letter with a fellow who's going to some civilized place where an A.P.O. is. I've been all this time around and now I'm in a very nice and quiet place. I arrived here by plane and then by truck and sedan chair and I'll stay here for some longer time. The travel was very inte-resting, in one place The plane went in the middle of an air raid (Japanese) and we circled around for a long time while our fighter did a good job while everybody aboard plane was highly impressed. I spend a few nights here and there in chinese hotels fighting with bedbugs. Part of the travel I as along but I take good care of myself and have always with the bedding roll and mosquito net wich is quit magic. By the way
