Wednesday, had so much to do today with organization I wasn't able to work more than half an hour. (we really have to move to the country.)  No mail from you for 2 days.  What are you doing?  Now 11 o'clock evening, at home.  Went to diner with Ruth Gruber and her publisher to talk about the illustrations for her book, a real "I got involved in", something that I should have referred but it's too late now because I promised I'd do it and because if I'd say no now it'll look like it's because of what happened in the clipping of Daily News (She hasn't been bothered by it.).  dull evening.  In the morning I had to see somebody about an idea of doing Christmas show windows for department stores.  At 12 had to go to Harper to help their ignorant editors make a blurb for the flap of the jackett.
