Rhododendrons in Mary Prentice Huntington Grove in Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. From early May through June the native rhododendrons and wild azaleas festoon the understory of the Redwood Forests, adding springtime beauty to the silent, stately Redwoods. Flourishing in the cool, moist climate and filtered sunlight of the Redwood Forests, rhododendrons are to be found as far south as Humboldt Redwoods State Park and bloom in profusion northward through Prairie Creek, Del Norte Coast, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Parks.
