ART   SCHOLARSHIP
$1776
As a commemoration of the Bicentennial, a member of the Austin Peay State University teaching staff is giving a scholarship of $1776 for a student who wishes to study in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program of the Art Department and who needs financial assistance. This money may be used for fees while enrolled at APSU for no less than six quarters. A minimum of two art courses per quarter is required. In the even that the designated recipient leaves school, the remainder of the fund may be used as the Art Department sees fit.

If you are a 1976 high school graduate and wish to compete for this scholarship, you must send the following material to Dr. Charles Young, Chairman of the Art Department, by May 1, 1976.

1. A carefully composed letter stating why you are interested in further serious study of art and why you need financial assistance.

2. Two letters of recommendation from members of your high school staff. 

3. At least 20 good color slides of your work done within the last two years.

4. A transcript of your high school record.

The recipient of this award will be notified by May 10 and all color slides will be returned to the senders.

The Art staff will make their recommendations to the University Scholarship Committee who will confer the scholarship.

Two alternate winners will be designated an in the event the winner cannot attend Austin Peay, the first alternate will be notified as soon as possible.
