Mr. H. O. Tanner,
"Edgewood" Trepied par Etaples,
Par doe Calais, France.

Dear Mr. Tanner:

Mr. Barrie has handed to me your letter of July 29th. I sold the two paintings to Mr. Haverty but, I am not sure that I can now give you a very clear description of them.

The smaller one entitled "At the Gates", as I remember, is a picture with some buildings in the background and two figures near the foreground and I believe with a donkey.

The large one entitled "On the Road to Emmaus" was quite an open picture with a considerable expanse of sky and, I think, two figures in the near foreground. The color was a rather bluish purple with a fairly warm sky.

I hope that this description will be helpful to you in supplying Mr. Haverty with the information which he wishes.

Very kindest wishes.

Yours sincerely,
W W Wiseman
