Dear Mr Barrie -

Thank you for your kind note of June 28th I have rather been waiting to send you a photo of a picture for which Mr Hearty gave me [[strikethrough]] when [[/strikethrough]] an order when he was here a little over 2 yrs ago. I have been rather long in finishing it not because I have not finished it because I had been trying to make it better & I believe it is better than it has ever been. [[strikethrough]] I thought [[/strikethrough]] I have had it photographed & have been waiting for some new proofs, but [[strikethrough]] to date [[/strikethrough]] to send you one

Finally I have concluded to send you it later [[strikethrough]] when it [[/strikethrough]] if it should ever arrive -

Please follow the [[strikethrough]] advice [[/strikethrough]] policy of accepting any reasonable offer until times improve. The exchange value of the $ is a great hardship to us who live over here. Let us hope it will acomplish [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] all that it was intended to do for you all who live in the US. - but 15 fcs for a dollar instead of 25 fcs. is a real disaster for [[strikethrough]] one [[/strikethrough]] us

I shall send you early in the Fall some smaller things I am working up, but if in the intrem [[interim]] during the space of time any thing could be sold I should be very glad.

I have been pained to hear of poor Noble's death

Thanking you for your kind responce

Believe me
Vy Sincerely

interim
