Mr. Henry O. Tanner,
43 rue des Fleurus,
Paris VIe, France.

Dear Mr. Tanner:-

I have had today definite word from Mr. Haverty that he will take your painting "Fisher Folk of Etaple" in exchange for the one that he returned to us in bad condition and which we will now hold as your property.

Mr. Haverty seems perfectly satisfied with the transaction and I will consider the deal closed and I appreciate your helpful cooperation.

With kindest wishes,
Yours truly,
Erwin S. Barrie
Manager.

you do not happen to know of any one who would care to have one of the small pictures I lately sent you. Sale are nil over here and I have some obligations that are pressing. If you could place one of them I should be very grateful.

"I am also very anxious to see the picture returned by Mr. H ——, but I fear I shall have to wait for more prosperous days.- If you should however have the chance to send among a lot of painting be sure to value it a damaged painting as I shall have to pay some duty to government as a painting & I want the sum to be as small as possible.

I should be pleased to have you include it with a very low evaluation due to the damaged condition
