and would have to be either brought from America - thus decreasing our already too small tonnage - or bought from the constantly decreasing French production. Our need of garden truck will be large - even now the French production is so limited in some Army Zones that only by forbidding its exportation - without special permission - are some of the Camps & Hospitals now properly supplied. 

It is too early to make an estimate of how much might really be raised but with energy & ability in its direction the total would certainly be large & worth the effort. 

What I solicit then is - my designation as a person that will be used in the development of this idea
