B. H. 23 & 36
Aug 26th 1918

To: Capt. W. Gillspie
From: H.O. Tanner
Subj: Situation at 23 & 36

I am waiting to hear from you. If you have written to me - I have not received it. The last letter received was dated Aug. 10th. I saw Capt. Tilney yesterday & he said he had no word from you. He only told me some one had arrived to do some painting. This did not please me especially as I want to do R.C. painting myself.

I shall be in Paris about 2nd to get some materials

It will not be a very difficult matter to initiate the new man in - as Lieut Knocke the garden officer & I lay off the work, & it is my place to carry it out, & we are beginning to get things going - though convalescents are very scarce.

Hope to see you soon.

H.O. Tanner
