[[crossed-out]]aegean light[[/crossed-out]]
"AEGEAN LIGHT" is related in character to several series of paintings, beginning in the '50s, in which "geometric" abstraction suggests possible objective reality : architecture and landscape are imagined, rather than observed - invented to create a certain kind of pictorial structure and subjective content. In this painting my intention, as in all my work, is both formal and lyrical: to evoke, through a visually satisfying organization of the [[crossed-out]]visual[[/crossed-out]] pictorial elements, the magic of light and shadow, the poetry and space and silence.
