Thoughts in a Physiology Classroom

It comforts me, O skeleton, to think that even I
Shall some day wear just a gay
And disillusioned smile.
And in your nakedness is nothing grim to me,
But a beautiful simplicity, economy artistic;
For like the pregnant outlines of a sketch
Your bones suggest
What warm, bright life once covered them.
