down - You'll be most astonished to hear that I saw your shades off yesterday, to Westbury, as I didn't think you'd have much use for them in Newport - and the wire frames I have ordered to be sent you there too. Don't be too surprised at a valuation of $50 on the shades - it means nothing except an ardent hope on my part that they'll be lost. I spend all my money valuing everything I send at $50 & nothing has ever gone astray yet & still I hope! How long will you be in that wretched Newport? If you're not there in September & if you have nothing better to do & if I do go up, just think how nice it would be for you to come up to the Adirondacks with me - Mother & I want to go up on the 1st for 2 or 3 weeks & just camp out, incidentally in the camp - do our own cooking there.
