My train of thought has luckily been interrupted by the removal of my mustard plaster which I think was exciting my brain!!!

On Monday past, Betty was in town & we went on a British recruiting party. I think as far as recruiting goes it was a failure, but otherwise very pleasant. The party consisted of Betty, Anne, Katharine Hexall & myself, escorted by Freddie McEskone, Archie Randolph, Uncle Walter & three of the Englishmen, two more joining us later. Did you ever hear of such a funny party? I have quite lost my heart to the half-breed  Britisher the one I told you about, whose mother was Spanish, father English, grandmother Haitian, grandfather Russian, or something of the kind.
