Flora Dear - 

I've been meaning to write you for a long time even before I got your letter, but not knowing your whereabouts I found it difficult to accomplish. What I really want is to see you of course. I've been missing you dreadfully of late & have had many things to submit to your critical eye - a short story & a poem written by my noble self & another poem written by an unheard of person - the latter I am going to enclose as I am completely crazy about it & know you will be too. You never told me how you liked "I am mine own priest" - but I'm convinced that you liked it. 

Mother is going away the end of the week for the whole month & I am going to be left in solitude to my desperate devices. The first week a friend of mothers is coming to stay with me, but after that I have made no plans. I went through the most terrible mental struggles to make myself stay, as she is going up to camp, & the thoughts of Knicker bockers causes
