Barbara Chase-Riboud 199, rue de Vaugirard, Paris 150, France 2 November 1971 Miss Betty Parsons THE BETTY PARSONS GALLERY 24 West 57th Street New York, N.Y. Dear Miss Parsons, I am happy it was possible to push back my date a bit. Thank you. The reason I permitted myself to suggest an alternate date: (11 April to 29 April) was that Easter vacation falls in the previous three weeks and is a two-week school vacation for French children. But I realize how difficult it must have been to have changed another person and I will have to cope with the problem of my kids! Before the end of November, I will send you photos and a definite list of sculptures. If I see that I will be in New York in the beginning of December to meet my husband coming back from India, I will bring some pieces with me as well as photos. I will try to get an article written. I intend to come by boat and bring the sculptures with me, which eliminates a lot of worry and expense. But I could send a large piece or two for reviewing if this is feasible for storage and moving, etc. Also the dock strike worries me. It would be a shame to send them by broker and everything and to have them sit around for three months. Please let me know how important this is to you. 3 large 3 med. 15 small 10 jewels Tentatively I have: One very large polished bronze and silk wall relief on a standing armature (for the ante-room as you come in); one large black bronze and black wool wall relief on a standing armature; one very large stainless steel and silk construction which is free standing; two medium size polished bronze floor pieces; one medium-large polished bronze table piece; ten to fifteen small and very small bronzes and seals; ten to fifteen jewels in gold and ten to fifteen new drawings. This makes about 40-45 pieces in all. ask tom Hess? Do you know of any New York reviewer that will be in Paris these days and could see the things here in the atelier? I think especially of Art News (Pierre Schneider lives in Paris, is a friend and writes for Art News. I think Tom Hess would let the show be reviewed in Paris if asked). Also Art International, who has a critic here. Please give my best to Jock and I hope to see you in December. Warmest regards, Barbara Mar 31 to Apil 8 OK
