Hodge, the old elevator boy, came to see me, to day. I had not seen him in a year. I listened to him for 2 hours & we lunched together at the Continental. It was a real treat to listen to real common sense perfectly expressed. The subject was the War as he saw - sees - it. -
So you see between you & Hodge I spent the day with solid honesty. THe living creative kind. - And the wind was icy - & I had summer clothes on - & I liked the cold. It was real -
